ARTIST IN LOCKDOWN - NEW WORK BY BOWEN KLINE

Hope everyone is well and keeping busy. I just wanted to share some of the current work I’m working on since I’ve been laid off from my job. I’m taking this time to work non stop in the studio; I’ve actually always wanted my life to be like this: wake up in the early morning, go for a long walk in the village with my wife, then in the studio for a few hours a day.

I’ve never had a problem with social distancing since I’ve always been naturally socially distant. As you know, my work revolves around people and the connections we share - whether or not you are in the same vicinity doesn’t matter.

Currently I’m working on another group portrait painting. I’ve been fascinated with people standing in lines. I believe it’s because of the individuality of each person connecting as a whole composition. I’m interested in order and balance of my work. I believe using people as a emotional connection as well as an abstracted part of an overall composition, creates a unity and balance.
