Detroit artist Sydney G. James talks about her painting and her earring. She and her crew work on a mural entitled "The Girl with the D Earring" on the western wall of the Chroma building in Detroit on Sept. 2, 2020. The art is a modern Detroit take on Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl With a Pearl Earring.”
