META / MORPHIC
May 31 - June 15, 2019
Reception: May 31, 6 - 9 PM
A small collection of personal observations for brief examination.
META / MORPHIC builds upon Eaton’s debut solo exhibition with M Contemporary Art in the fall of 2018, entitled ARAF, which featured a selection of abstract landscape paintings inspired by his own travels, and reconstructed from memory.
“The patterns represent the layers of earth, rock and minerals pulverized and forced into shapes and forms sometimes resulting in fantastic demonstrations of color theory and angular juxtaposition; the more loose and gestural markings are meant to stimulate memories of natural elements like clouds, water, trees and a multitude of biological forms.”
-Matthew Eaton, on ARAF
